The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria today relieved the nation’s service chiefs of their appointments. The affected officers are Sambo Dasuki, national security adviser; Alex Badeh, chief of defence staff; Usman Jibrin, chief of naval staff, Kenneth Minimah, chief of army staff and Adesola Amosu, chief of air staff. Their replacements would be announced later today
President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the Director General of the State Security Service, Ita Ekpenyong. In his place, he has appointed Lawal Musa Daura as new head of the agency, which services as Nigeria’s secret police. The appointment was conveyed today in a letter by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Barrister Danladi Kifasi. The appointment is with immediate effect.
